Twinsburg -- With little to no notice before the Bob Evans on SOM Center Road in Solon closed in June, the restaurant's more than 30 employees were forced to make some quick decisions.

While the Aurora restaurant took about 20 transfers, the Twinsburg location on Hadden Road gained experience, taking on the six highest-tenured employees from the Solon location as additional staff.

And theses employees want their regulars to know they are still happy to see them and serve them, now just 20 minutes farther south.

"They have long-term guests they want to let know they are at the Twinsburg location," said Melissa Quillin-Grignon, now manager at the Twinsburg restaurant. "With a lot of their guests not being the computer generation they wanted to reach out to them via print."

The six tenured servers from Solon include Mary (18 years); Vicki (18 years); Lindy (10 years); Marcy (18 years); Kimberly (13 years); and Michael Moore, who was hired when the Solon location opened 27 years ago.

These regular customers used to bring Christmas presents for servers and birthday gifts of all kinds, Quillin-Grignon said.

"It's a new location and we're adjusting, but we're happy to be here," Moore said. "I'd describe our relationship with our customers like family ... family and friends."

According to Quillin-Grignon, the Solon store closed due to prohibitive costly repairs that were needed for the building.
