TWINSBURG TOWNSHIP --- Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated announced April 11 that it has signed agreements with an affiliate of The Coca-Cola Co. to purchase a manufacturing facility in Twinsburg Township and expand the bottler's distribution territory in northern Ohio.
The agreement includes the acquisition of the Highland Road facility, as well as territories in Akron, Elyria, Toledo, Willoughby and Youngstown, currently served by Coca-Cola Refreshments USA, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Coca-Cola Co.
The company expects to close the deal this month.
The manufacturing agreement will provide the company with the rights to manufacture and produce beverage brands owned by The Coca-Cola Co. as well as certain other beverage brands not owned by The Coca-Cola Co. that are manufactured at the Highland Road facility.
The manufacturing plant, located in the Joint Economic Development District the township shares with the village of Reminderville, employs about 100 people.
