Take a trip to Buffalo
Members of St. Rita's Church in Solon can take a trip to Buffalo, N.Y., to see one of the many places of prayer in upstate New York. Our Lady of Victory Basilica and National Shrine in Buffalo offers a soulful connection with Mother Earth at a place that has been a well spring of love, compassion and giving to those in need. The focal point of the altar is a nine-foot marble statue of the Blessed Mother which was personally blessed by Pope Pius XI before being shipped to the United States. A gracefully unfurled canopy supports a large gold cross held aloft by four angels. Fr. John will con-celebrant the Mass that day. After Mass, enjoy a guided tour of the shrine with time to visit the gift shop and museum. Also planned is a visit to Celeron, N.Y., to visit the new Lucille Ball statue. Deadline to register is April 1. For more information, contact Cindy Jeric at 330/-963-0808 or email at LadyCynthiaJ@Windstream.net.
