Seeking teams for golf outing
Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and Advent Lutheran Church, both of Solon; and Hands, Hearts and Homes Outreach will sponsor a charity golf outing at 9:30 a.m. June 9 at Fowler's Mill Golf Course, 13095 Rockhaven Road, Chesterland. Cost includes 18 holes, a cart, valet bag service, breakfast, lunch, banquet and prizes. Additional events include a silent auction, a 50/50 raffle and prizes. Registration and continental breakfast will be at 8 a.m. and a shotgun scramble will be at 9:30 a.m. Some of the events will be longest drive, longest putt, hole-in-one and closest-to-the-pin.
H3O is a non-profit charitable organization that assists with the distribution of furniture and household furnishings to individuals and families coming out of shelters who need a fresh start in private homes of their own. H3O provides personal hygiene items, clothing and even food supplies to the homeless and needy individuals and families in the greater Cleveland area. Christ the King hosts flea market, summer camp
Christ the King Lutheran Church youth will sponsor a flea market and craft fair on the grounds of the church, 10285 Ravenna Road, July 22. Vendors are invited to set up a 10-foot by 10-foot booth on the grass (no electric available) to sell household items and craft projects. No guns or alcohol. Suggested donation for the booth space is $20, which will be used by youth for a trip to the 2018 Evangelical Lutheran Church in America's National Youth Gathering in Houston. Concessions will be available for purchase.
Hours for the market are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine, and all unsold items must be removed from the premises by 5 p.m. Set up your selling space beginning at 8 a.m. To register for a space, visit www.ctktwinsburg.com and return the form to Christ the King, 10285 Ravenna Road, Twinsburg OH 44087 with a check for $20 made out to Christ the King. Christ the King will also host a day camp June 12 to 16 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The camp will include a nutritious daily lunch and snacks. It is open to students entering first grade through those entering seventh grade and will be at the church. Activities will include crafts, singing, games, sports, Bible study and special events such as a visit from the fire department and a hike with a professional naturalist. This is a cooperative effort of the Christ the King Lutheran Church and Lutheran Outdoor Ministries in Ohio. Call 330-425-7377 for information. Register by June 7 as space is limited to 40 students.
