The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Cleveland will have annual Ramadan Interfaith Iftar event "Fasting in Major World Religions" and has invited civic leadership, public officials and religious leaders to this event. Ramadan, the Muslim month of fasting from sunrise to sunset, began May 26 and will end on the night June 25. True Islam teaches that Muslims are to abstain from eating and drinking during the daytime and focus on self-reform of habits and character.
The Ramadan interfaith Iftar event is June 14 at 7 pm starting with interfaith program followed by Iftar dinner at Bait-ul-Ahad Mosque, 297 Center Road in Bedford. This is free and open to the public.
Special guest will be Bedford Mayor, Honorable Stanley Koci. Speakers will be Guljeet Singh from Bedford Gurdwara, Cantor Richard Lawrence of Temple Emanu El, and Imam Adnan Ahmed from Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Cleveland.
