Twinsburg -- As with many of the 40 past themes of Twins Days Festivals, expect the unexpected when it comes to interpretation.
This year should prove to be no different with the 41st Twins Days Festival, themed "Twins Days: Twinfinity and Beyond!" and set for Aug. 6 and 7 in the city named for twins.
As always, the festival will kick off with the Double Take Parade Aug. 6. Activities for twins and multiples throughout the weekend will include twins contests; twins talent show; twins research area; twins group photo; entertainment, arts and crafts; twin-related and sponsored booths; small amusement rides and games; and a spectacular firework show the evening of Aug. 6.
Morning activities Aug. 7 will include the Twins Days 5K Run and Fun Walk benefitting the Melanoma Education Initiative.
As always, food concessions and official souvenirs will be available throughout the weekend. See the Aug. 3 Twinsburg Bulletin for much more on the upcoming festival.
Twins are encouraged to register at the festival to participate in twins-related activities and to be included in the official count.
Registration forms can be downloaded and more information is available at twinsdays.org. Twins and multiples can also register at the festival site.
Located 25 miles southeast of Cleveland, Twinsburg plays host to thousands of twins from across the globe every year, as far away as Australia, Japan, China and Russia. All siblings are encouraged to attend as well.
This annual international event is recorded as the "Largest Annual Gathering of Twins in the World" by the Guinness Book of World Records.
