Murder mystery

is Sept. 30

The Foundation of the Twinsburg Public Library will present "Speak Easy of Murder," a murder mystery party at Twinhaven Reception Hall, next to Ss. Cosmas and Damian Catholic Church at 10419 Ravenna Road, Sept. 30 from 6 to 9:30 p.m. A silent auction fundraiser will offer chances to win autographed sheet music by Adele and the Eagles; and autographed albums by Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and more. Bid on trips to a Colorado microbrew; a Savannah get-away; and a Tuscan truffle hunt in Italy. "Roaring 20's" attire is welcome. Tickets are available through Sept. 23 or until they sell out (125 total). Call 330-425-4268 ext. 2 for more information. The show will be performed by the Murder and Merriment Interactive Murder Mystery Theatre Troupe.

Youth Services:

Sensory story time is Sept. 24

An interactive program that engages children through movement, music, stories and sensory play will be Sept. 24 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. It can be enjoyed by all children, but is ideal for those who have a hard time in large groups, are on the autism spectrum, or have sensory integration challenges. There will be sensory and social opportunities during the second half hour of the program. Children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.

Finger spelling and sign language will be taught through the use of songs, games, crafts and storytelling, Mondays through Oct. 31. A session for ages 4 years through second grade will be from 5:30 to 6 p.m., and a session for grades three through six will be from 6:15 to 7 p.m. Students will be able to sign the alphabet along with words and simple sentences.

Learn baby signs

Baby sign language is about using simple gestures with babies and toddlers that allow parents and caregivers to communicate with them long before they have begun speaking. This class, for birth to 36 months, is on Thursdays from 6 to 6:30 p.m. through Nov. 3.

Adult Services:

Zumba runs through Oct. 27

Enjoy a high-spirited dance workout with a certified Zumba instructor Sept. 22 through Oct. 27 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Register for each session separately. There is a $5 fee per class or $30 for the series payable directly to the instructor. Bring cash.

Practice English-Spanish


Do you speak English or Spanish? Come and practice those conversational skills in either language Sept. 27 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. This is a free, informal learning experience.

Medicare specialist speaks

Medicare plan specialist Sharon Honroth returns to the library with an update on Parts A, B and D Sept. 28 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. She will explain what is covered, what is not and the options are available for filling the gaps. Get questions answered at this free event.

Upcycle CDs into picture frames

Ever wonder what to do with those old, scratched, worn-out CDs that have been replaced with digital music? Turn them into sparkly picture frames, perfect for capturing those favorite memories. "Upcycle It!" will be Sept. 23 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the library.
