Youth Services: Register for Junior Spelling Bee
Registration is now open for second and third graders in the Twinsburg City School District who wish to participate in the Junior Spelling Bee, which takes place March 11 at the Twinsburg Public Library. Stay silent, no laughing
Play the hysterical game, "Silent Library," Teen Crossings-style, Jan. 27 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Teams compete against each other attempting different activities while trying to remain silent. Can you play without laughing? Bring your own team. If registering as a team, only one person needs to register the group. This is for teens in grades 7 through 12.
Sensory story time is Jan. 28
Sensory Story Time is an interactive program that engages children through movement, music, stories and sensory play. The next story time is set for Jan. 28 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the library. It can be enjoyed by all children, but is ideal for those who have a hard time in large groups, are on the autism spectrum or have sensory integration challenges. There will be sensory and social opportunities during the second half-hour of the program. Children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.
Pokemon Trainers Club meets
Calling all Pokemon trainers! Bring those cards or Nintendo DS to trade and battle your Pokemon Jan. 28 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. There will also be a Pokemon-related activity. This is for youth in kindergarten through eighth grade and an adult. No registration is required.
Children's sign language class set
Children's sign language will be Mondays, Jan. 30 through March 20, from 5:30 to 6 p.m. for ages 4 years through second grade; and from 6:15 to 7 p.m. for grades three through six. Finger spelling and sign language will be taught through the use of songs, games, crafts and storytelling. Students will be able to sign the alphabet along with words and simple sentences.
Mommy and Me story time yoga
"Mommy and Me" story time yoga begins Jan. 31 from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Parents and children move and chill together with yoga and a story in this three-week series. Bring a mat or large towel. This is for ages 1 to 3 years with a caregiver.
Learn baby signs on Thursdays
Learn baby signs on Thursdays, Feb. 2 through March 23 from 6 to 6:30 p.m. at the library. Baby sign language is all about using simple gestures with babies and toddlers that allow parents and caregivers to communicate with them long before they have begun speaking. This is for birth to 36 months.
Adult Services: Go off the grid with grandkids
Go "Off the Grid with Your (Grand)Kid" Jan. 25 from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Twinsburg Public Library. Learn how to use the Internet to find fun, low or no-tech projects, crafts and places to visit with grandchildren to create lasting memories. At the end of the class, create a simple winter-themed craft together.

Learn the the importance and benefits of pre-planning burial needs at this program, Jan. 25 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the library. Many people put off making decisions about life choices that are hard to face. Start the year off on a positive note by attending this educational seminar, sponsored by Crown Hill Cemetery in Twinsburg.

The art gallery is featuring photography by Joe Dagostino. The large display cases hold Charlene Krejci's vintage shoe collection. Check out the small display cases which contain a floaty pen collection owned by Kristen Beason and Dungeons & Dragons memorabilia owned by her husband, Chris Beason.
