Youth Services: Sensory story time set
Join at the library Feb. 25 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. for this interactive program that engages children through movement, music, stories and sensory play. It can be enjoyed by all children, but is ideal for those who have a hard time in large groups, are on the autism spectrum or have sensory integration challenges. There will be sensory and social opportunities during the second half hour of the program. Children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.
Pokemon Trainers Club meets
Calling all Pokemon trainers to the Twinsburg Public Library Feb. 25 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Bring cards or Nintendo DS to trade and battle your Pokemon. There will also be a Pokemon-related activity. This is for youth in kindergarten through eighth grade and an adult. No registration is required.
Spend some quiet time artfully filling in modern coloring book pages Feb. 26 from 2 to 3 p.m. This is for children ages 5 to 10 years old. No registration is required. Snacks will be provided while supplies last.
Wonder party is March 3
Who hasn't read and loved the book "Wonder"? Celebrate with other fans at an after-hours Wonder party March 3 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Make some mindful decorations and create "kindness banners" for the library. This is for students in grades 4 and up.
Adult Services: Lyrical Langston
"Lyrical Langston: His Life in Music and Verse" will be Feb. 25 from 2 to 3 p.m. at the library. Enjoy a literary concert offering a biographical narrative of iconic poet and writer Langston Hughes' life and works. The event includes prose and poetry by and about him accompanied by a solo violinist.
Real estate for seniors: Moving vs. aging in place
Have you thought about how your health, finances or the set up of your home may determine whether you should stay where you are or move? This program will help you look at these variables and get you thinking about aging in place vs. moving to a more suitable home. The program is the same on both dates: March 4 from 10 to 11 a.m. and March 7 from 10 to 11 a.m. The program is presented by KW Chervenic Realtor Casey Rumora.
Real Estate 101: Lending options and documents
Learn about conventional, FHA, VA and 203K loans at this program, March 4 from 11 a.m. to noon; and March 7 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. There will also be information about grants and discounts and how selling a home first factors in. Then, look at the common documents used in real estate and what they mean. The program is the same on both dates. This is presented by KW Chervenic Realtor Casey Rumora.
The art gallery is featuring the "Portraits of Homelessness" collection, photography taken and stories recorded by Lydia Bailey. The collection draws attention to the Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry's Men's Shelter at 2100 Lakeside in Cleveland. The large display cases contain copies of the "Explore Twinsburg" books as well as various objects associated with Twinsburg's history. And don't forget to check out the small display cases which contain Leanne Meier's heart box collection.
