TWINSBURG -- The 18th annual Coffee for A Cause will be at Twinsburg Public Library April 8 at 6:45 p.m.

Always one of the most important and anticipated annual events at the library, Coffee for a Cause allows talented teens to perform music, poetry and comedy skits in a coffeehouse-style setting.

Patrons sip beverages and enjoy home-baked pastries while being serenaded and entertained. The money raised benefits Aluminum Cans for Burned Children, an organization that improves the quality of life for young burn survivors and their families by providing funding for research, annual therapeutic residential burn camps, and other year-round activities that support their physical, psychological and social needs.

Coffee for A Cause became a partnership on April 27, 2001, between the Twinsburg School District, the Twinsburg Public Library and the Friends of the Twinsburg Public Library. With less than $100 of seed money donated by the Friends, as well as donated baked items, students were able to raise more than $500 that year. Students have been able to raise more than $17,600 over the past 17 years. In 2016, the event raised more than $600.

Teens interested in performing this year can register online at www.twinsburglibrary.org/c4ac. Registration closes April 1 at midnight. Help support this annual event Saturday, April 8.

Twinsburg Public Library is at 10050 Ravenna Road, Twinsburg 44087.
