TWINSBURG -- The Twinsburg Police Department hopes that learning bicycle skills and safety (and perhaps a few BMX tricks during the morning) is as easy as, well, riding a bike.

The Twinsburg Bike Rodeo will be May 13 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Dodge Intermediate School, in the parking lot, hosted by Officer Greg Kopniske, school resource officer at R.B. Chamberlin Middle School. The popular event offers free bike safety tips, BMX bike trick demonstrations and a ride to Idlewood Park for hot dogs and cold drinks.

The free event is for children in kindergarten through sixth grade. Helmets and adult supervision are mandatory for participation.

Events include:

A bicycle helmet fitting station;
