Twinsburg, Twinsburg Township and Reminderville are celebrating 200 years in 2017, with the founding of the original "Millsville" by 16-year-old Ethan Alling in 1817.
Six years after that, with twins Moses and Aaron Wilcox purchasing more land in that area and changing the name to Twinsburg, the 24 acres at Town Square began to blossom, with such branches from that central area including Locust Grove Cemetery, various businesses and the Twinsburg Institute.
Founder's Day, the major celebration of the community's 200th birthday, will be July 22 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and include a picnic, art show, car show, live entertainment, time capsule events and more. More details will be upcoming as the Bicentennial Committee meets this spring.
