TWINSBURG -- The Twinsburg Baseball League announced May 8 that it will host the second annual celebration of the most valuable players in Twinsburg and the surrounding communities.
"TBL Celebrates Our MVPs!" will be July 30 at 4 p.m. at Liberty Park in Twinsburg.
"For many children, baseball is a universal form of recreation that is a summer tradition," said TBL President Rich Swerbinsky. "For other children who may have a physical or other challenge that prevents them from playing the game of baseball in a traditional setting, TBL celebrates these young children and their families with a special event."
"TBL Celebrates Our MVPs!" celebrates young children who may not be able to play the game of baseball along with their peers. The event features a short baseball game along with "baseball buddies" to promote the game in the field and at the plate.
The special young players are introduced prior to the game, get a turn at-bat with walk up music and game announcers, and play the field with their "baseball buddies."
Following the game, young players and their families will be honored with a family picnic and receive some take-home gifts in honor of them. There is no registration fee for families and children in Twinsburg and surrounding communities who would like to participate.
For families interested or for those interested in volunteering or donating to the event, contact Stevie Romano, TBL event coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 330-998-2175.
