Family Land Fair
The Foundation of the Twinsburg Public Library is hosting its Third Annual Family Land Fair May 21 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The day will include entertainment, demonstrations, and more for families of all ages. A number of vendor booths representing retailers and services from the surrounding area will be here with special offers and information. Other highlights include face painting, balloon twisting, magic, and more. Those attending can have a picture taken with Jedi Knights between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. Guests also can visit with the variety of animals on the library grounds and purchase refreshments from several food trucks. Registrations for the Summer Reading Club also will be taken.
Volunteer Training Sessions
Students entering grades nine through 12 can earn their community service hours at the library. Volunteer opportunities include assisting with Summer Reading Club in the Children's Room. Volunteers must attend one of the following training sessions before they may begin: May 17 or 18 from 7 to 8 p.m., or May May 20 from 4 to 5 p.m.
Friday Morning Movieand Craft
Visit the library May 19 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for a craft and a family-friendly, G-rated movie. No registration is required. Feel free to bring a snack and blankets to sit on. This activity is for all ages with a caregiver. The craft is at 10:30 a.m., and the movie is at 11 a.m.
World War II Veteran Wes Gaab will discuss his experience as a draftee in the U.S. Army 104th Engineering Infantry Division on May 20 from 11 a.m. to noon. His journey started at an Army Specialized Training Program and took him to the front lines in France and Germany. He was awarded three European Battle Stars, a Purple Heart, and a Silver Star for his service.
Parenting for Beginners
Expecting a new arrival in your family? Attend this class May 22 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. to learn everything you'll need to know to be prepared, including free library and web resources you can use.
Attention all writers: Join authors Jean Daigneau and Gloria G. Adams May 23 from 7 to 8:45 p.m. in a beyond-the-basics workshop that will teach the ingredients needed for getting a manuscript published.
The Library will be closed May 28 and 29 for Memorial Day Weekend.
