Youth Services: Video game madness
Play retro video games from NES, SNES, N64 and modern consoles like Wii U, Wii and Xbox Kinect June 16 from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Refreshments will be provided. This is for students entering grades 7 through 12.
Take in an outdoor movie
Bring chairs, blankets and snacks to enjoy a screening of a PG-13 rated space movie released in 2016, June 17 from 9 to 11 p.m. The event will take place in the library parking lot. In the event of rain, the movie will be shown indoors.
Kindergarten Academy is June 19
Give a child a taste of kindergarten with this fun, educational series June 19 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Participants in this class will learn about letters and rhyming. The class and activities are from 11 a.m. to noon. Feel free to bring a peanut-free bagged lunch for a cafeteria-feel, as the children watch a video pertaining to the skills of the day from noon to 12:30 p.m. This for children entering kindergarten in fall 2017 or fall 2018.
LEGO WeDo Maker Space
Come to the library June 20 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. to create a unique LEGO design. You must have already attended a LEGO WeDo program. This is for children ages 10 years and older. Children younger than 12 years must attend with a caregiver.
Adult Services: 'Voices of the Hill' screening
A screening for "Voices of the Hill," an oral history and documentary about Twinsburg Township Heights, will be June 23 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Join for a special screening of this 2017 Cleveland Film Festival documentary filmed by local teenagers. It is a heartfelt tribute to the hardworking men and women who built Twinsburg Heights with blood, sweat and tears. Popcorn and lemonade will be served.
Total solar eclipse is June 24
A total solar eclipse will be visible in North America this year, but what causes a solar eclipse? Why is it 'total?' Do other events like this happen in the universe? Discover answers to these questions and more from presenter and professional astronomer Kevin Manning, June 24 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. This is for ages 8 years and older.
Hear 'Music in the Garden'
Join us for the Twinsburg Public Library's seventh-annual "Music in the Garden" summer music series of free one-hour concerts, June 25 from 2 to 3 p.m. Popular singer/entertainer Greg Piscura will perform renditions of songs from the Great American Songbook. In the event of rain, the concert will take place in meeting rooms 1, 2 and 3.
Space movie Mondays
Explore the universe with library friends by viewing the second of four popular movies about space, June 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. Admission, popcorn and lemonade are on the library. Refreshments will be served 10 minutes prior to start time.
Library closed for Father's Day
The library will be closed June 18 for Father's Day.
