In celebration of Make a Difference Day, the Nordonia Hills High School PTSA will be hosting the second annual "Fill the Bus" campaign to benefit The Emergency Assistance Center. The community's support is sought to help fill a Nordonia Hills school bus with non-perishable food items.
This year Twinsburg High School's PTSA has agreed to join us in this endeavor and will work to fill a Twinsburg school bus with donations from their students, schools and community. Collection bins will be set up at the schools in both districts for the week of Oct. 17 through Oct. 21.
The Dolphin Family Restaurant is also joining efforts this year as a community partner and as a donation drop off location. The restaurant is in Summit Plaza on Route 8 in Northfield Village.
Students, staff and the two communities are asked to leave non-perishable food items in any of the collection bins in these locations.
The collection will conclude at the Nordonia Knights home football game on Oct. 21 against Twinsburg, where each school will have a district school bus at the game to collect the week's donations, plus those additional donations brought to the game.
Those attending the game are asked to bring any non-perishable food items for this collection to the Home Gate, where the buses will be parked.
Make a Difference Day, the fourth Saturday of every October, is a day set aside where millions of volunteers around the world unite in a common mission to improve the lives of others. Make a Difference Day celebrates the power of people to make a difference.
