The first of three Gourmet Matinees was July 12.

The matinees are at Knight Grove on the grounds of Blossom Music Center. It is situated on a hill and under a pavilion surrounded by lovely woods.

The Gourmet Matinees are sponsored by the Blossom Friends of The Cleveland Orchestra. A special thank you to Faye and Teke Heston for their generous support of the BFCO Gourmet Matinee Season. The proceeds benefit The Cleveland Orchestra at its summer home, Blossom Music Center.

In addition to a gourmet lunch, the audience hears music by members of The Cleveland Orchestra. This is an informal afternoon to meet the artists at BMC. It is an opportunity to see TCO musicians up close and personal. An answer and question session follows their performance.

On July 12, music was provided by the Cleveland Bluegrass Orchestra: Trina Struble, fiddle; Mark Dumm, banjo, guitar, mandolin; Henry Peyrebrune, guitar, and Derek Zadinsky, bass.

Trina Struble is the principal harpist in our Cleveland Orchestra; Mark Dumm is a member of the first violin section; Henry Peyrebrune and Derek Zadinsky are both in the bass section. They have come together and formed this group and have a lot of fun performing.

To attend one of the matinees, contact Nancy Cruikshank at 440-354-8603 for information or ticket availability the week of each luncheon. There are two more luncheons: Aug. 3 (cello and trombone) and Sept. 1 (trumpet), from noon to 2 p.m.
