TWINSBURG -- The Twinsburg Garden Club will host master bee keepers Evona and Kris Gaughan Feb. 9 at 6:30 p.m. at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 10285 Ravenna Road in Twinsburg.

The Gaughans participate in several farmers' markets with their garden and bee-related products throughout the year. They offer bees and beekeeping supplies, as well as provide mentoring and support to new beekeepers. The Gaughans understand the importance of honeybees being an essential part of the food chain. Bees pollinate fruits and vegetables, as well as plants that pasture-raised animals eat.

But the population of honeybees is declining. Without them, the food supply will diminish. After the Feb. 9 presentation, attendees can sample wildflower pollen and a beeswax-based healing cream. Some "Bee Dancin'" products will also be available for purchase.
