After 20 years of service to the district, twinsburg city schools secretary renee wolf is retiring, effective Feb. 1.
Colleagues and co-workers say they are both proud and heartbroken to see Wolf leave the district, saying they will lose an outstanding secretary.
Athletic director Mark Maslona, who worked with Wolf for the past three months, described her as an incredible colleague.
“In a word, and I hate to be juvenile, but ‘awesome,’” Maslona said about Wolf. “She is very knowledgeable, very efficient, and always willing to help. At no time do you feel like she doesn’t have yours or the school’s best interest at heart. I’ve been trying to convince her to stay because she’s been such a big help to me.”
Assistant vice principal Alex Popovich has worked closely with Wolf for several years at Twinsburg High School and said he will be sad to see her go.
“She’s a great woman,” Popovich said. “It’s going to be one of those bittersweet (moments). You’re happy for her, but you’re sad for the school.”
As a co-worker, Popovich credited Wolf with an outstanding work ethic and compassion for her fellow employees.
“I’ve never seen someone manage their time better,” Popovich said.
“She’s more or less someone who can work circles around others here in this building. She cares for the people she works with. She’s very thorough and very fair. I think a lot of our coaches are lucky to have her. We’re losing a heck of a co-worker.”
Wolf, who made $20.18 per hour with the district part-time, served as secretary for the Twinsburg High School Athletic Director. Wolf did not return a call seeking comment.
A replacement has not yet been found for Wolf.
Popovich and Maslona said they expect Wolf will look forward to spending time with her also retired husband and her four granddaughters.
“I know how important family is to her so I’m sure she’ll spend more time with her family,” Maslona said. “We worked closely every single day and she’s just fantastic.”
“You wish you could find another 20 Renee Wolfs out there,” Popovich added.
