TWINSBURG -- Dodge Intermediate School was the recipient of a $1,000 physical education donation from the 8th Continent Soy Milk company's Looking Good Feeling Good Sweepstakes, reported Twinsburg's Board of Education Wednesday.

Andrew Gordon, Dodge parent and fitness enthusiast, entered Dodge Intermediate into the sweepstakes, said superintendent Kathryn Powers. The donation will be used to purchase exercise balls and yoga stretch bands, expanding the school's physical education curriculum.

The Board also approved the 2013-14 school calendar on Wednesday, which includes changes from the 2012-13 calendar. Powers said the school year will start "a couple of days later," meaning students will be in session until early June 2014. Also, spring break in 2014 will not include Easter Sunday in an effort to synchronize with the Cuyahoga Valley Career Center's schedule and distance the break from achievement testing dates.
