Man refuses to pay bill, is arrested: Following a 911 hang-up, police responded to a Darrow Road bar at 11:06 p.m. Jan. 18 and found an unruly patron who was refusing to pay his bill and leave after being asked by management. The patron, a 52-year-old Twinsburg man, was arrested for disorderly conduct and petty larceny for refusing to pay his $28.49 bill and taken to Solon jail. The man was also found to have an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court from Walton Hills Police Department. He pleaded not guilty to all charges Jan. 22 at Stow Municipal Court and is scheduled for pre-trail at 9:45 a.m. Jan. 31.
Obstructing Official Business
Woman calls for help, then accused of impeding search: Saying her friend was dangerously drunk and needed medical attention, a 24-year-old Twinsburg woman called for police assistance from her Ridgewood Drive residence at 2:58 a.m. Jan. 19. Officers found the caller's friend, a 21-year-old Boston Heights woman, to be heavily intoxicated. Officers reportedly smelled marijuana coming from inside the residence and entered. Officers never found any marijuana or paraphernalia and there were no drug-related charges filed. The caller attempted to stop police as they entered and was also found to be intoxicated. The woman was charged with obstructing official business and disorderly conduct while intoxicated and taken to Solon jail. The caller's intoxicated friend was taken to Cleveland Clinic for treatment.
Marital dispute settled, man charged: Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a Bridget Lane residence at 10:15 p.m. Jan. 20. When police arrived, both residents, a 55-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman, explained the situation. The man allegedly had pushed a table into the woman's knee, and the woman did not require medical attention. The man was arrested, charged with domestic violence and taken to Solon jail. He pleaded not guilty at a Jan. 25 arraignment at Stow Municipal Court. Pre-trial is set for 3 p.m. Feb. 25 at Stow Municipal Court.
Driver knocks over mailbox, street light: A Parkland Drive resident called police at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 25 to report that someone had driven onto his lawn during the previous night and knocked down his mailbox and a nearby street light. Damage to property was estimated at $100. The incident remains under investigation. The Twinsburg Service Department was informed of the damage to the light.
Argument broken up, unruly son arrested: A 54-year old Twinsburg woman called police after a verbal altercation with her son, a 26-year-old Twinsburg man, escalated at 2:05 p.m. Jan. 19. When officers arrived, the son was reportedly loud and uncooperative, refusing to leave the room when asked by police. The son was charged with disorderly conduct and taken to Summit County Jail.
