Twinsburg — Two men were injured, neither critically, and taken to area hospitals following an accident involving a truck and a car at about 10:40 a.m. this morning.
According to the Twinsburg Fire Department’s Lt. Steve Velimesis, a 4-door sedan and an 18-foot box truck appeared to have collided on Darrow Road southbound near the Interstate 480 on ramp.
The extent of the drivers’ injuries were not known, though fire officials said they were both expected to recover. Both men were transported separately to the Cleveland Clinic in Twinsburg and Akron City Hospital. There were no other passengers in either vehicle, Velimesis said.
Twinsburg and Macedonia EMS units transported the drivers from the scene, which was cleared with traffic moving again in about 20 minutes, Velimesis said.
A cause of the accident, or whether it was weather-related, was not known.
“It looked like someone slid or maybe missed the stoplight, I don’t know at this point,” Velimesis said.
Twinsburg police and fire, as well as Macedonia EMS, responded to the accident.
