Twinsburg -- In a unanimous vote March 20, the School Board approved setting aside $243,607 for the installation of a new wireless internet and communications network in all district school buildings.
The initial expenditure would cover equipment costs and installation, while regular maintenance of the network is expected to cost $19,764 annually. This contract with the Northeast Ohio Network for Educational Technology (NEOnet) is slated for July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2016. The district expects to finalize the project's installation time line in coming weeks.
Board President Kate Cain-Crisswell expressed her support for the wireless solution, saying "[it's] a smart time to move forward with this."
