Police Blotter: Man wires $1,500 upon hearing bogus story of grandson in danger

Overdose: A man was transported to the Cleveland Clinic Twinsburg Family Health and Surgery Center from the Blue Top Motel, 9392 Ravenna Road, Sept. 5 about 2:30 a.m. for a suspected drug overdose.

Overdose II: A 28-year-old Ravenna Road woman was charged Sept. 1 with possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said the woman was found unresponsive at the Blue Top Motel, 9392 Ravenna Road, due to a suspected drug overdose. The woman was revived with Naloxone. Police said they found suspected heroin and three plastic straws near the woman. She was transported to the Cleveland Clinic, and arrested upon her release.

Money and keys: Two women reported Sept. 6 that someone took car keys and cash from a table in the cafeteria of a cosmetology school in the 10700 block of Ravenna Road. The amount of cash was not known and the case remains under investigation.

Fraud: A 74-year-old Demi Drive man reported Sept. 2 that he wired nearly $1,500 to someone in New Jersey after receiving a phone call that his grandson was in trouble. He later discovered the call was a scam. The case remains under investigation.

Identity theft: A Darien Lane resident reported Aug. 29 that someone used his personal information to create a business website. The case is under investigation.


Domestic violence: A 21-year-old Rolling Hills Drive woman was charged Aug. 28 with domestic violence. She is accused of striking her 40-year-old mother during a quarrel. No medical attention was sought by the mother and the younger woman was arraigned in Stow Municipal Court.
