Twinsburg -- Twinsburg Fire Department firefighters and paramedics practiced field training exercises along with medical helicopter personnel from University Hospitals during the great weather Sept. 16.

The exercise, an inter-agency event that focused on possible problems with medical helicopter flight crews, took place at Twinsburg Fire Station No. 2 at Glenwood Drive.

According to fire officials, the group practiced how to properly shut down a medical helicopter if a pilot were to become incapacitated; trauma assessment if a helicopter experienced a hard landing; and generally focused on flight crew safety and response.
