Akron - The Andrea Rose Teodosio Foundation's Rose Project will begin Oct. 1 distributing homecoming and special occasion dresses to girls who can't afford them.
Teens who need dresses should go to Reidinger Middle School, 77 West Thornton St., Oct. 1, 5, or 12; Nov. 2 or 16; or Dec. 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Accessories will be given from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 5 and 12.
Anyone who wants to donate a gently worn dress can do so during the same hours and dates.
The Andrea Rose Teodosio Memorial Foundation is a nonprofit organization, named for the daughter of Summit County Judges Linda Tucci Teodosio and Thomas Teodosio. Andrea Teodosio died in a 2011 skiing accident.
According to a press release announcing the 2016 dress giveaway, the foundation works to "demonstrate the values Andrea held close to her heart. These include compassionately assisting the underprivileged and elderly, actively addressing environmental issues and promoting community service and education."
