REMINDERVILLE -- The village is accepting letters of interest to fill an open seat on Reminderville Village Council, vacated by longtime Councilor Mario Molina.
Molina, who has taken the new position of director of operations in the village, will take on some of the duties of Sam Scaffide, former service director in Reminderville, who resigned the position of service director to "pursue other opportunities," said Reminderville Mayor Sam Alonso.
Molina will also focus his time on operations at the new Reminderville Athletic Club and be paid $45,000 per year for the position, Alonso said.
"He will be responsible for the personnel at the Reminderville Athletic Club, paying the bills there, among other duties," Alonso said. "Mario has quite a bit of small business experience and my hope is he can fill that need for us with the RAC."
For the open Council seat, the term lasts until Dec. 31, 2019, and is subject to re-election.
Qualifications, as stated in the Reminderville Charter Section 4.04, include the following: "Each council person shall have been a resident and qualified elector for at least one full year prior to the date of election or appointment and shall continue to be a resident of the Municipality throughout their term of office. A council person shall hold no other elective public office or be employed by or hold any other office in this Municipality."
Letters and resumes can be sent to Reminderville Village Hall, 3382 Glenwood Boulevard, Reminderville 44202, c/o Stacey Task, Clerk of Council; or can be emailed to email@example.com.
Deadline for letters and resumes is Feb. 15, 2017 at 4 p.m.
