Interact Club collects shoes for West Africa
The Interact Club of Twinsburg is collecting new and gently-used shoes (tennis shoes and cleats are needed the most) to ship to Senegal, West Africa, to be donated to those in need. Drop-off bins are available at the Twinsburg Public Library, the Twinsburg Fitness Center and Reminderville Athletic Club. Shoes are not only for comfort, but a basic human necessity, helping to prevent the spread of parasitic diseases that plague millions in developing countries. For more information visit http://yesshoesinc.org/shoes_africa.htm. The club will also conduct its annual Jeans For Teens drive. Jeans are the No. 1 needed items for teens in homeless shelters and crisis centers. New or gently worn jeans are being accepted at the Library. In the past three years the club has been able to donate more than 300 pairs of jeans. Aeropostale was involved the first year, however for the past two years the nationwide drive has been handled locally with local teen shelters. Contact 330-425-4268 for more information.
