TWINSBURG -- As Founders' Day approaches, 50-year residents are invited to share their memories now and with generations to come.

The Bicentennial Committee asks residents who have lived in Twinsburg Township, city of Twinsburg or village of Reminderville for 50 years or more to submit a recollection on the topic "I remember when ... " to Twinsburg Government Center, 10075 Ravenna Road, Twinsburg 44087; or email them to Bicentennial Committee member Kim Malusky at Kimberley.Malusky@swagelok.com.

Submissions should be no more than 200 words and include a name, address, phone number and total years of residency.

No one has been able to witness all 200 years of the community's rich history, but these longtime residents have stories of Chrysler, the first fire station, even UFO sightings that can help preserve the last quarter of it.

And in an effort to pay this history forward, all recollections will be recorded and preserved in a time capsule to be buried this fall at Crown Hill Cemetery.

Participating residents will also receive a commemorative garden flag recognizing them as a 50-year resident at Founders' Day July 22.

Bicentennial book still available with voucher

The Bicentennial book "Three Communities, One Heritage" is still available. Bring vouchers to one of the locations listed on the back of your postcard to receive a free copy. All households that claim a book will be entered for a grand prize at Founders' Day.
