The Edge creates new travel basketball league The Edge Sports Performance Academy in Twinsburg, in partnership with Scott Ritenauer, founder of the Western Reserve Travel League, introduces a Northeast Ohio youth travel basketball league for fourth- through sixth-grade community-based boys and girls teams. The Northeast Ohio Youth Basketball League regular season tips off the first three weekends in December and continues the first three weekends in January with a single elimination tournament after the regular season. Ritenauer and Tucker Neale, of the Score More Athletic Club and founder and director of the Edge basketball program, are league co-directors. Each team will play two games per weekend during the regular season, one on Saturday and one on Sunday. Teams in other leagues or driving more than a half hour have the option of playing both their weekend games on Saturday or Sunday. Cost is $595 per team. The fifth- and sixth-grade teams also will play one game at The Q for additional fee of $12 per player. Among the teams and communities already committed are Strongsville, Orange, Chagrin Falls, Shaker Heights, Twinsburg, Hudson, Jackson, Lakewood, Middleburg Heights, Keystone, Brooklyn, Aurora, Nordonia, Solon and Barberton. The Edge uses athletics as a teaching tool and is committed to helping individuals and teams realize their potential on the field, in the classroom, in the workplace and in life. Community teams can register by calling The Edge at 330-487-0452 or Tucker Neale at 440-773-9543. The Edge is located at 9550 Ravenna Road in Twinsburg. Comments
