Our Redeemer accepts pre-school registration Our Redeemer Preschool, at 7196 SOM Center Road in Solon, is accepting registration for the 2008-09 school year. Classes for pre-kindergarten children will be three hours per day, five days per week. Four-year-olds will be three hours a day for three days per week, and 3-year-olds will be two-and-a-half hours per day, two days per week. For more information or to schedule a visit, call the preschool office at 440-248-4066. Every Wednesday throughout Lent Our Redeemer invites people to remember the Lord's journey to the cross. Pot luck suppers are at 6:30 p.m. and a worship service is at 7:30 p.m. Kids for Christ from Our Redeemer invites people to bowl at Solon Freeway Lanes, located at 33185 Bainbridge Road, on Feb. 24 from noon to 1:45 p.m. There will be two games of bowling, pizza and soft drinks. Cost is $10 and children in grades three through six are welcome. St. Rita asks community to join mission St. Rita Catholic Church in Solon will host a Lenten mission, "God Revives Our World (GROW)." Presented by Father Norm Douglas and Larry Vuillemin, the mission will be conducted on four consecutive evenings beginning March 2. The goal of the GROW journey is to foster a strong sense of the spirituality of everyday, ordinary life, including that of work and relationships. The public is invited to attend from 7 to 8:45 p.m. every evening March 2 through 5. The mission will take place in the church at 32820 Baldwin Road in Solon. Babysitting will be available. The worship service on Feb. 24 at Lakeview Chapel will start at 10:45 a.m. The message is titled "Loyalty Pays Off with a Husband - Ruth." This is the second message in a four-week series about bringing harmony into relationships through character. This series will examine the characters in the book of Ruth and what those characters mean to people in their personal relationships. Attend any of these Sundays to hear the "Real Life Romance Story" of a couple who is making it through life together. Nursery and children's church will be available, during service, for infants through fifth-graders. Classes for ages 3 through adult begin at 9:30 a.m. The church's youth group will join hundreds of other teenagers from around the city for an evening with the Cleveland Cavaliers on Feb. 29, sponsored by Greater Cleveland Youth For Christ and Campus Life. From 7 to 8 p.m., join Lakeview Church on Sundays. Adults will be "digging deeper" into the Word. There are activities for children and the youth group from 6:45 to 8:15 p.m. The nursery also will be open. Lakeview hosts a Bible Study at Starbucks, in Aurora, for men in the community at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday mornings. All are welcome to participate in the Christianity Today's series, "Men of Integrity." Study and discussion is based on desired involvement. On March 15, Lakeview Chapel will host "Couples Evening Out." From 7 to 9 p.m. couples will play or watch "The Newlywed Game" and share desserts. There is no charge, but each couple is asked to bring a dessert to share with others. People do not need to be a member of Lakeview to attend. Feel free to contact the church at 330-562-3438. Sanctuary hosts 'Unity Meeting' for men The Christian Education and Training Department at the Sanctuary of Praise will sponsor the second-annual essay contest in conjunction with Black History Month. The topic is "How We Fight" and should be 100 to 125 words in length. This contest is open to youth ages 8 to 18 years old. The youth in the community also are invited to participate. The winning composition will be chosen based on neatness, grammar and how well the student responds to the topic. Entry forms are available at the church. On Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. through March 12, Solon Community Church, 33955 Sherbrook Park Drive (on the corner of Sherbrook Park Drive and SOM Center Road) will offer an approximately 30-minute worship service. Worship, led by the Rev. Mary Ellen Hoffman, will include prayer, scripture, a brief meditation and singing a hymn. Everyone in the community is welcome.
