Police News: Car electronics reported stolen from parked vehicle

Twinsburg -- An officer responded to a Twin Circle apartment March 7, after a resident reported his $800 CD/DVD player, $400 MP3 player and $800 GPS unit had been stolen from his vehicle. The resident stated the vehicle was left unlocked in the parking lot from Wednesday evening to Friday morning. There are no suspects. An investigation is pending.

Theft

March 4: Theft at gym -- An officer responded to a local gym after a man reported his MP3 player, valued at $299, was stolen from a ledge where he left it before he worked out. There are no suspects. The case is closed.

Warrant

March 7: Man caught on warrant -- An officer initiated a traffic stop on a 42-year-old Cleveland man for not using his turn signal.

A police database showed the man had a suspended license and an active warrant through the Bedford Police Department for contempt of court on a traffic charge.

The officer placed the man under arrest for alleged driving with a suspended license and transported the man to the Twinsburg jail where he was held on a $500 cash bond.

Theft

March 7: Brass theft -- A local business employee reported that an employee, a 51-year-old Maple Heights man, took scrap brass from the business. After a police investigation, the man admitted taking scrap brass four additional times, by putting the items in his lunch box. The total amount taken was $270. The suspect was arrested on a theft charge.

Vandalism

March 7: Vandalism -- A Myrick Lane woman reported a 21-year-old Case Street man vandalized her car. She said she found her car the same day with numerous dents, its wiper arms broken off and the front window smashed.

When deputies and the victim met the suspect, he allegedly started yelling at the deputies and the victim, and refused to give his identity to the deputies.

A witness positively identified the suspect, who was placed under arrest and charged with criminal damage, obstructing official business and disorderly conduct.
