The Twinsburg Township trustees have agreed to pay the February and March lease payments for the Twinsburg Township Municipal Complex, approximately $80,000, to the Summit County Port Authority, Port Authority President Chris Burnham said Thursday afternoon.
The Port Authority had given the township a deadline of 4 p.m. today to resume lease payments on their town hall or face possible eviction.
Burnham said the Port Authority learned of the Trustees' agreement to pay in a letter from the Trusteees to the Port Authority, dated March 20.
When asked about the letter Thursday afternoon, Trustee Jim Balogh said, "I'd like Carol Gasper to be the spokesperson on the matter."
Gasper could not immediately be reached for comment Thursday.
Burnham declined to comment on the details of the letter.
"I will be discussing the letter tomorrow with my executive board," Burham said,"So I will not be locking the township staff out of the building today."
