by Andre Clayton Reporter Twinsburg Township-- Dr. Bahman Guyuron and his representatives have taken the first official step toward establishing a 600,000-square-foot retail development east of Hadden Road and south of Interstate 480. Project developers met with the Twinsburg Township Zoning Commission March 31 to discuss changes to the zoning code affecting the Hadden Road area. "We are working on zoning which will accommodate residential, commercial and retail [facilities]," said Zoning Commission Chairman Dan Richner. If a change is made to the zoning code, it would be submitted to the Summit County Planning Commission for review and opinion, according to Township Zoning Administrator Alice Kanieski. "There is a lot that needs to happen between now and then," Richner said. The project representatives and township both have "rough sketches of proposed changes for zoning," which will have to be made into one final draft before being submittal to the county, according to Richner. Shelden Berns, Guyuron's attorney, said he was "pleased with the reception." "We look forward to working with them in order to help get the zoning which is necessary passed for the development," he said. The zoning commission will have another meeting April 7 about the Guyuron project. "We will be looking at how to draft the language [of the zoning change proposal]," Richner said. "We have to agree with what kind of district we want," Richner added. "They want a shopping center district." E-mail: aclayton@recordpub.com Phone: 330-688-0088 ext. 3172 Comments
