Troop celebrates 'Scout Sunday'

Aurora United Methodist Church and Boy Scouts of America Troop 265 celebrated Scout Sunday together on Feb. 10.

Scout Sunday is celebrated each year in honor of the anniversary incorporation of the BSA in 1910.

The service was conducted by the Rev. Edna Stahl and Troop 265's youth, including Tom Landals of Twinsburg and Matt Andrews, Alex Sasala, Sean Cullen and Marshall Brown, all of Aurora.

Andrew Badalamenti, also of Aurora, gave the children's minute.

Friends and families of Troop 265 joined members of Aurora United Methodist Church in the service.

Aurora United Methodist Church is located at 241 North Aurora Road (Route 43), just north of Route 82, in Aurora.

Aurora UMC is part of the East Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church. Along with regular ministries, Aurora UMC supports numerous programs for the community including Boy and Girl Scouts, TOPS, and AA.

Troop 265 has been part of the Aurora community for more than 60 years representing the Boys Scouts of America and providing an educational program for boys and young adults to build character, train in the responsibilities of participating citizenship and develop personal fitness.
