Local man robbed at gunpoint in middle of afternoon

Twinsburg -- A man reported March 27 he was robbed at gunpoint between 2:10 and 2:30 p.m. in the parking lot of a Ravenna Road gym.

The victim said the suspect walked up to him, pointed a handgun at him and demanded money. The man said he gave the suspect $108 and the suspect walked away toward Ravenna Road.

The man was not hurt and contacted police at 2:30 p.m. the report said.

Officers and a police dog unit checked the area where the incident occurred, but no suspects were found.

The case is under investigation.

Illegal drugs

April 2: Lost and found -- Officers responded to a Darrow Road grocery store for a report of a wallet that was found containing illegal drugs. Officers were not able to locate the wallet owner at the store.

The wallet and illegal drugs were placed into police custody, and the case is under investigation.

Dog at large

March 30: Dog bite -- Officers responded to a Crestwood Drive home for a report of a dog bite. The victim stated a neighbor's dog came onto his property and bit him on the buttocks. The victim did not request medical attention.

Officers cited a 26-year-old Ridgewood Drive man for having a dog at large.

Burglary

March 29: Home broken into -- Officers responded to an East Idlewood home at 2:42 p.m. for a burglary call. Officers met with the homeowner's son, who said when he arrived at the home he discovered the front door was open, a window was broken, and jewelry that had been taken from the home was left on the front porch.

Officers entered the home and found no suspects. The victim was asked to make a list of any stolen property. An investigation is pending.

Damage to property

March 28: Car scratched -- An officer met a Northfield woman in the police department lobby for a damage to property report. The woman told police on March 27 she parked her car in her Wilcox Drive employer's parking lot at 4 p.m. before going to work. When she returned to her vehicle at 10 p.m. she discovered the paint had been scratched on the right side. The officer took pictures of the damage. There are no suspects at this time. The case is closed.

Trespassing

April 2: Unwanted visitors -- A deputy was dispatched to a Stanford Street home for an unwanted persons report on the property. During an investigation the deputy discovered a 30-year-old Northfield Village man had an active theft warrant and active forgery warrant, both first-degree felonies, out of the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office. The deputy also discovered a second person, a 46-year-old Stanford Street male, had an active warrant for failure to appear for driving under suspension out of the Summit County Sheriff's Office.

Both suspects were arrested and transported to Summit County Jail.

Transportation

March 28: Free fare -- An officer responded to the intersection of Post Road and Country Club Lane in Twinsburg and met with two Twinsburg officers to transport an apparently intoxicated Aurora woman back to her home. The officer transported the woman to her home without incident.

Suspicious person

March 26: Suspicious follower -- An officer met with a Penny Lane woman in the police lobby who reported she had been followed to the police department. The woman reported that after she nearly was involved in a traffic accident in Solon with another vehicle, the vehicle followed her to Reminderville.

Instead of going home, the woman drove to the police department and watched the vehicle drive past her, turn around and drive westbound on Glenwood Boulevard at a high rate of speed.

The woman did not get the license plate number nor did she give a physical description of the suspect. The case was closed.

Active warrant

March 17: DUS warrant served -- An officer saw a vehicle traveling east on Glenwood Boulevard at 40 mph in a 25 mph zone. The officer stopped the vehicle on Glenwood Boulevard and the police database showed the suspect, a 26-year-old Warrensville Heights man, was driving with a suspended license, a first-degree misdemeanor.

The suspect was arrested and transported to the village police department. The suspect was released on a $500 personal bond and was given a court date at the Cuyahoga Falls Municipal Court.
