Twinsburg -- The dangers of loved ones -- especially children -- carrying traditional forms of identification no longer has to be a concern, thanks to city resident Nicki Donley.

Neille Lane resident Donley, a mother of 4-year-old triplets and president of www.idyourlovedone.com, started the Web site in October 2006 with the help of computer programmer Jeff Adams, to provide a "better way" of storing a loved one's identification.

According to Donley, for an annual fee, the Web site provides an 8-digit account number that allows access to an online database that stores pictures, physical descriptions, a list of acquaintances, medical information and more of a particular person.

This keeps family members, especially children, from having to carry traditional forms of identification, such as a wallet, that can be lost or stolen. It allows police immediate access to a photo and other identifying information in the event of a missing persons report.

In April 2007, Donley said her Web site was put to the test after a child was reported missing in an Ohio store. The child's caretaker, who was a customer of Donley's Web site, logged onto the site at the store and printed the child's photo. Security guards used the photo to locate the child in the store.

Donley said she met with Twinsburg Police Chief Chris Noga last month to have her Web site linked from the police department's site, which Noga said he expected to be done "soon."

"I think it is a good thing to offer to residents," Noga said. "In this day and age, having a way to store information safely and securely is important to have, especially for children."

But Donley added she wanted it to be linked to even more local public sites, such as the school district.

The site currently has about 175 registered members across the country, Donley said.
