Twinsburg -- Man's best friend now has a palace to call a second home.

Pooch Palace, located at 8027 Darrow Road, is where someone can leave his or her dog for daycare for the starting cost of $22 per dog, or nightcare and one day of daycare starting at $40 per dog.

Hudson resident Jill Giesey said she opened the business last month because she understands what dogs need.

"They need interaction or they will develop behavioral problems," Giesey said.

Giesey said she is happy with the location of her business.

"Since we are located by I-480, customers come from all over such as Hudson, Stow, Aurora and Cuyahoga," Giesey said.

Pooch Palace is a cage-free environment, where dogs have the entire house to themselves, according to Giesey.

The dogs also have a fenced-in, 75-foot-by-50-foot yard in which to play, Giesey added.

Eight staff members -- two full-time and six part-time employees -- supervise the dogs throughout the house, Giesey said.

Business hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day of the week.

"The kennel is a horrible environment," Giesey said. "Pooch Palace is a much cleaner and safer environment."
