Many times, small communities are thought to be small-minded -- as if a lack of size determines foresight and imagination. Lucky for the staff of Twinsburg Public Library, Karen Tschudy came to Twinsburg 24 years ago, inspired by the possibilities she found in this moderately-sized suburb. Tschudy stood in an 11,000-square-foot, land-locked building and got to work developing plans that two decades later have brought the library national recognition and made it a destination of choice for residents. It will be very sad saying goodbye to her, but at the same time, the staff is happy that she can begin a well-earned retirement, knowing she is leaving behind a wonderful legacy. The public is welcome to join the Twinsburg Public Library Board of Trustees and Friends of the Twinsburg Public Library in celebrating Tschudy's distinguished career during an open house in her honor May 18 from 2 to 4 p.m. Attend couples therapy The library will host relationship expert Kathy Dawson on May 7 at 7 p.m. Dawson will address different strategies needed by new couples, new marrieds and new parents to keep their relationships vibrant and alive. Dawson is "the leading relationship coach in Northeast Ohio" and the author of "Diagnosis: Married" and "Cleveland Couples." She appears frequently on local radio and television. Register for the program by calling the reference desk at 330-425-4268 ext. 2, or visit www.twinsburglibrary.org to register online. Learn about marriage and money Learn how to set up a new financial household on May 19 at 7 p.m. Christy Corrice, a financial representative, will present a program for couples. They will learn to work as partners to create a budget and a long-term financial plan. Call the Reference Desk at 330-425-4268 ext. 2 or go online to www.twinsburglibrary.org to make a reservation.
