Twinsburg True Value reopens under new owner

Twinsburg -- A year after being closed, Twinsburg True Value on 10735 Ravenna Road is back with a new owner.

The hardware store had a ribbon-cutting ceremony April 19 to celebrate its reopening, according to the new owner, Dennis Mulhern.

Mulhern said his Windham True Value store had a partnership with the True Value franchise for about 10 years, which led the chain's corporate representatives to offer the Twinsburg True Value to him when the previous owner was unable to maintain ownership due to illness.

Mulhern said the previous owner is "happy" for him.

The Garrettsville resident said he took up the offer once he arrived at Twinsburg and saw the store's location for the first time.

"I fell in love with the city, and the location of the store is perfect," Mulhern said.

More than 1,000 people visited the store over the April 19 weekend, said Vernon Harris, Twinsburg True Value general manager.

The 15,000-square-foot Twinsburg True Value offers more than 20,000 products ranging from hardware tools to patio furniture, and has access to the chain's more than 70,000 products.

Mulhern said he brings new features to the store such as glass cutting, window and screen repair and lawn mower repair.

Even though the store currently has eight employees -- two worked under the previous owner -- Mulhern is certain that number will grow.

"Things will take off," Mulhern said.
