Enroll in 'Take Me Home' program

Representatives of the "Take Me Home" program will be at KidsLink Neurobehavioral Center on April 26 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Sponsored by Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh and Sheriff Drew Alexander, "Take Me Home" is a database for individuals who may have difficulty communicating in a law enforcement situation, such as persons with autism, Alzheimer's or dementia, and mental retardation or other disabilities. The database is accessible only to law enforcement personnel.

Enrollment involves completing a registration form and having a photo taken. There is no cost to register. The system includes a picture, disability, description and contacts. If a person in the "Take Me Home" program is encountered alone by a police officer, the officer can access the "Take Me Home" database by name or by the person's description to locate their enrollment record. For more information on, go to www.co.summit.oh.us/Prosecutor or www.co.summit.oh.us/Sheriff. KidsLink Neurobehavioral Center is located at 8054 Darrow Road in Twinsburg. For directions visit www.kidslinkohio.com.
