My Gym hosts ' challenge week'

My Gym Children's Fitness Center of Solon announces its third-annual My Gym Kids for Fitness Challenge through May 2. In celebration of National Fitness Month, the My Gym Kids For Fitness Challenge educates children about fitness and good health, inspiring children and families alike to make fitness a priority.

The My Gym Kids For Fitness Challenge addresses subjects such as childhood obesity with an innovative approach designed to encourage and empower children to make smart, healthful choices. The week will emphasize an ongoing theme at My Gym of Solon of fun, fitness and good health through class programming, informational handouts and activity sheets.

The My Gym Kids For Fitness Challenge also serves to raise awareness for the My Gym Challenged America Foundation (MGCA), a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization committed to improving the lives of children in need. The MGCA scholarship and outreach programs have given thousands of children a chance to learn about fitness and to develop the self-esteem necessary for future success. For more information, or to make a donation, visit www.challengedamerica.com.

My Gym is also announces that Olympic Gold Medalist Scott Hamilton will return as the Honorary Chairman of the event. Hamilton has supported both My Gym and My Gym Challenged America for years, serving as an honorary board member of the My Gym Challenged America Foundation. His son attends My Gym classes as well. During the week, families can call the gym and schedule a free age-appropriate class to participate in the challenge. The schedule can be found online at www.mygym.com/solon with the age guidelines as well.
