Ladies tea is May 3
Area women are invited to the annual "Ladies Spring Tea" on May 3 from 1:30 to 4 p.m. at Christ the King Evangelical Lutheran Church, at 10285 Ravenna Road in Twinsburg. The guest speaker will be Marilyn Spena of Twinsburg. Spena describes herself as "first, as a Christian ... then as a wife, mother, step-mother, grandmother and step-grandmother." Some may know her from the local women's retreats she has helped to coordinate and facilitate over the past 15 years. She has taught Sunday school and Bible study classes for both children and adults. There is no cost for the May 3 event, however reservations are requested. Singles fellowship dinner set "TrueLife" Singles invites all singles, ages 35 and older, to a fellowship dinner at Parkside Church on May 2 at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The guest speaker will be Pastor Jeff Mills. This is an opportunity for Christian fellowship with friends and to meet new singles. The cost is $10 per person for the catered dinner. Reservations are required by April 28. Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Solon will host its Vacation Bible School June 23 through 27, with the theme, "Friendship Trek." Children of all ages are welcome to come and experience a wonderful journey with Jesus. Spread the word and mark those calendars. 'Dig deeper' into Gospel on Wednesdays The worship service May 4 will start at 10:45 a.m. The message will be titled, "We Don't Want Your Money." In a struggling economy, most people do not turn down money. Come hear why a pastor would say this publicly. Nursery and childrens' church will be available, during service, for infants through fifth graders. Classes for ages 3 years through adult begin at 9:30 a.m. On Wednesdays from 7 to 8 p.m. join Lakeview as adults will be "digging deeper" into the Word. There are activities for the children and the youth group from 6:45 to 8:15 p.m. The nursery also will be open. LVC hosts a Bible study at Starbucks, in Aurora, for men in the community at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday mornings. Study and discussion is based on desired involvement.
