Twinsburg -- An officer reported he tried to stop a vehicle allegedly traveling 86 mph in a 65 mph zone on Interstate 480 near the 35.5 mile post on May at 9:42 p.m., but the driver disregarded the officer and continued to flee in his vehicle. According to the report, the vehicle finally stopped on I-480 and the officer removed the driver, a 31-year-old Garfield Heights man, and searched the vehicle. The officer reported finding four pills which tested positive as Ecstasy. The man was charged with speeding, failure to comply and drug possession. -- Twinsburg -- Drug paraphernalia
April 9: Two needles found -- An officer stopped a vehicle on Interstate 480 for a traffic violation. The officer discovered that two passengers had drug abuse history, so the officer conducted a search of the vehicle. The officer reported finding two syringes in the vehicle with alleged heroin residue. According to the report, one syringe belonged to the driver, a 27-year-old Mantua man, and the other to the female passenger, a 40-year-old Streetsboro resident. Both were cited for drug paraphernalia possession and released at the scene. April 23: Driving with drugs -- An officer stopped a 22-year-old Chamberlin Road female for a suspicious vehicle on Sherwin Drive. The officer reported finding an alleged marijuana pipe in the center console of her vehicle. The woman was cited for drug paraphernalia possession and given a April 30 court date at the Cuyahoga Falls Municipal Court. April 30: Cracked windshield leads to arrest -- An officer observed a vehicle traveling with a cracked windshield and stopped the vehicle on Darrow Road. Police said the driver, a 20-year-old Ravenna Road man, had an active warrant from the Kent Police Department for drug abuse. The officer reported finding a marijuana pipe and a small bag of alleged marijuana on the man. The man was charged with drug abuse, drug paraphernalia possession and operating an unsafe vehicle, and transported to the Twinsburg Police Department jail. He was later released to his father. Theft April 29: Unlocked car -- A Gettysburg Drive woman reported someone stole $300 from her unlocked vehicle while it was parked in her driveway around 4 a.m. There are no suspects and the vehicle was not damaged. The case is closed. April 29: Locker room theft -- A man reported his son's $300 cell phone was stolen from the Twinsburg High School boy's locker room on April 28 during football practice. The case is closed. Active warrant April 27: Failure to appear -- An officer stopped a 21-year-old Cleveland man on East Aurora Road for traveling with his headlights off at night. The man was arrested after the officer discovered the man had an active warrant through Oakwood Police Department for failure to appear in court for a traffic offense. He was held at TPD jail on a $500 bond. -- Twinsburg Township -- May 2: Drinking in public -- A patrolling deputy witnessed a 29-year-old Akron woman standing outside a Ray Court residence drinking alcohol.
