Credit Union announces new president and CEO

Akron-based BFG Federal Credit Union, with a branch office in Twinsburg, announces the appointment of Michael Owens to president and chief executive office.

Owens joined BFG Federal Credit Union in 1991, and prior to his promotion, served as executive vice president. Owens came to BFG Federal Credit Union with more than 11 years of prior financial services experience.

He earned an undergraduate degree in political science from Hiram College and is a graduate of the Credit Union National Association Management School in Madison, Wisc.

As well, BFG announces the promotion of Cheryl Foster to executive vice president. Foster began her career at BFG more than 30 years ago and previously was chief financial officer. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Summit County Chapter of Credit Unions.

BFG Federal Credit Union is a community credit union open to all individuals, who live, work, worship, attend school or volunteer in Summit County.
