Outing on links coming The Hattie Larlham 22nd Annual Sugar Bush Golf Classic To Benefit Children and Adults with Disabilities is scheduled to take place May 21 at Sugar Bush Golf Club in Garrettsville. For 22 years, this annual shotgun-style golf tournament features morning and afternoon tee times for four-person teams. The Sugar Bush Golf Classic is presented by Sugar Bush Golf Club and The Middlefield Banking Company. The event includes contests, raffles and grand prize drawings.The single-player registration fee is $125. Teams needed The Stark-Summit Baseball League is accepting teams for its summer high school league season. Age-group leagues are 15 and younger, 16 and younger and 18 and younger. Girls can play soccer The Wooster College Girls Soccer Camp, a residential girls-only soccer camp, is accepting registrations for its June 15 through 18 and July 6-9 sessions. Play soccer in fall league The American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) Very Important Player (VIP) program provides a soccer experience for children whose physical or mental disabilities prevent them from successful participation on mainstream teams. The VIP program allows everyone a chance to play. Registration for the Fall 2008 League will be mid-May through mid-June. The team will be participating through AYSO in Twinsburg and the games will be played on fields there. Practices and games will be held back-back, with each player having a "buddy" to encourage and assist them on the field. It is for kids in the 5-through-12 age range that have either physical or mental disabilities that would benefit from this type of activity. The registration fee is $25 and includes uniform (shirt, shorts and socks), fall season games and an awards ceremony. Registration forms will be available online at www.twinsburgsoccer.com. Trio races Twinsburg residents Michael Adkins, Jeff Ebner and Griff Allen competed at the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon races May 4. Adkins, 37, and Ebner, 22, competed in the half marathon. Adkins finished 157th in the male 35-through-39 age group and 1,704th overall with a time of 1 hour, 59 minutes, 2 seconds. Ebner placed 84th in the male 18-24 division and 986th overall (1:51.49). Allen, 23, placed 24th in the male 18-24 age group and 577th overall (1:06.14) in the 10K race. Gerycz leads CVCA The visiting CVCA baseball team earned a lopsided 21-10 victory over Principals Athletic Conference rival Akron Manchester April 30. Twinsburg resident Kyle Gerycz (3-1) got the win for CVCA (11-4, 6-1). Sheeler places 10th Twinsburg resident Jennifer Sheeler, 26, placed 10th in the female 20-through-29 age group and 70th overall with a time of 31 minutes, 9.8 seconds at the Diversity Center's 5K race May 3 in Cleveland.
