Wristbands sold
to benefit Miktarian fund

The Twinsburg Police Department and Government Center now have wristbands available for sale for $5 each to benefit the family of fallen Officer Josh Miktarian. The wristbands are being sold by the family of Christine Lyden, of Twinsburg, on a non-profit basis.

The wristbands will be available again at a benefit for Miktarian on Aug. 8 at the Twinsburg Outdoor Waterpark. Wristbands will be available beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The wristbands read "Officer Josh Miktarian E.O.W. 7-13-08" -- and all proceeds will go toward The Josh Miktarian Memorial Fund, according to a release from the Lyden family.

The wristbands are similar to Livestrong bracelets. They are dark blue to symbolize both Twinsburg and "The Thin Blue Line" of officers everywhere, according to the release.
