Alan Griffith, 73, of Reminderville, died April 22, 2009. He was the beloved husband of Maureen; dear father of Brian, Chris and the late Keith Griffith; loving grandfather of Catilyn, Chelsea, Emma and Tessa; and brother of the late Warren Griffith.
Mr. Griffith was born in N.Y. City, where he went to Xavier High School, Brooklyn College and Fordham University. He had a successful career in commercial finance, retiring in 1997 as regional president of the Bank of New York Commercial Corp. He also was founder and president of the Ohio Regional Chapter of the Commercial Finance Association, a Twinsburg Person of the Year, Chairman of the Twinsburg Education Task Force, manager and president of the Twinsburg Boys League, Trustee of Aurora Shores, president of the Aurora Shores Homeowners Association, Aurora Country Club member and guest tournament champion, eucharistic minister at Ss. Cosmas and Damian Catholic Church and was recognized by Ohio Rep. Dennis Eckart for his commitment to community service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Xavier High School, 30 West 16th Street, New York, N.Y., 10011-6302, Att: Rev. Daniel Gatti, S.J.
The family received friends at Johnson-Romito Funeral Home April 24. Mass of Christian Burial was April 25 at Ss. Cosmas and Damian Catholic Church. Burial was at Crown Hill Memorial Park.
