-- LOUISE P. JOHNSON -- Worked as school secretary Louise P. Johnson, 91, of Grande Village Retirement Community in Twinsburg and formerly of Audley Avenue in New Castle, Pa., died the afternoon of April 24, 2009, at her residence. Born in New Castle, Pa., on March 10, 1918, Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Arsenio and Maria Solimo Corio; and her husband, Marion F. Johnson. The two were married May 6, 1950. He died Dec. 31, 1998. She also was preceded in death by sisters Frances Corio and Rose Monico; and brothers Nicholas M. Corio, John P. Corio and infant Nicholas Corio. She is survived by daughter Geralyn (Mark) McConnell of Twinsburg; son David (Elizabeth) Johnson of Topsfield, Mass.; and grandchildren Michael, Andrew, Megan, Annie and Kevin. Mrs. Johnson retired in 1980. She was a secretary for the New Castle Area School District, with 12 years of service. She also was a former employee of Johnson Bronze Corp. and American Cyanimid Co. Mrs. Johnson was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church of Solon, and a former member of St. Philip and James Church. She was a member of AARP, Pa.; the Association of School Retirees; Retired Secretaries of New Castle Area School District; and the Friendship Street Originals Club. Calling hours were at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill Street. A Mass of Christian burial was at St. Vitus Church, the Rev. Fr. James Gretz of St. Vitus Church officiating. Entombment was at Parkside Cemetery Mausoleum. Comments
