Blue Canyon chef tops at festival

Blue Canyon gourmet named Top Chef at festival

Blue Canyon Kitchen and Tavern co-owner and executive chef Brandt Evans was named St. John West Shore Hospital's Festival of the Arts Top Chef. Evans won with his "Caribbean spiced duck wings" and "pretzel crusted trout." Both are menu favorites at his Twinsburg restaurant.

Chosen by foodie royalty including Food Network's Ted Allen, author and Next Iron Chef judge Michael Ruhlman and business writer Marsha Pledger, Chef Brandt says he's "honored to receive the 2009 TOP CHEF award."

The event took place July 10 on the grounds of St. John West Shore Hospital in Westlake. Proceeds benefitted the hospital's Community Outreach and Wellness Ministry Programs.
